DescriptionThis workshop will focus on how-to migrate core infrastructure and application solutions to a Linux environment from proprietary systems such as Windows, Unix and Netware. The workshop will cover the following areas:
Workshop attendees will take away practical techniques that can be immediately put into practice in their own migration projects. InstructorBiswajit Banerjee, Tetra Information Services Biswajit is Director at Tetra Information Services. He has over 14 years of experience in systems integration, implementation, management and migration services using open source software. He has extensive 'hands-on' experience in many open source technologies - E-Mail systems such as Sendmail, QMail, web-based systems, web servers such as Apache and Tomcat, FTP servers, Samba, databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle, Linux based routers, firewalls, VPNs, VOIP servers, Internet content and proxy servers, clustering servers, and bandwidth managers. Biswajit also has extensive project experience with OSS projects in implementing and migrating e-mail servers from Exchange and Lotus Notes to Q-Mail, implementation of VOIP servers, firewalls, porting of Windows networks to Linux, migrating file and print services, email and database applications from Windows, Solaris and Novell Netware networks to OSS systems.
